Aonghus O’hEocha has 30 years experience working in technology and business. Initially working for Shell in London and then progressing to work for Land Rover, Solihull, as an engine designer and BMW in Munich and Warwick as a senior manager on new Mini & Range Rover projects. Having obtained a Masters Degree in Engineering Business Management form Warwick University, Aonghus then went on to form wireless and audio technology firm (OHD) working with organisations such as the European Space Agency and Warner Brothers (US). In 2009, Aonghus established GIRT mobile, one of Irelands’ first mobile application development companies. Following a very successful period working with Microsoft and various other partners, GIRT now supplies on-line and mobile banking software into 16 Credit Unions and Building Societies in Ireland and the UK. It also produces enterprise management software which it supplies into multi-national organisations. In 2015 Aonghus started to study blockchain technology looking at how it could benefit the banking applications it was developing. Two years later the he and the GIRT team produced the first decentralised application for Dexapoint and has now created the architecture for the Bitcub platform overseeing the development of the first iOS and Android applications.
